Hello there dear readers! What is up and what is down? How is life treating you these days?

My goodness! Has it been a while or what? I feel like I have said that line before… Eh, go figure.

Thanksgiving did not go exactly as I envisioned it, but the weekend turned out to be quite a treat for my family and I. As with many in the States, the family had been planning to spend the holiday with friends. Sounds like a good time, eh? That is what we all thought. Unfortunately, work schedules kept my father and brother busy while sickness struck my sister and mother ill. Everyone is still surprised I did not fall ill along with my sister and mother… Guess my immune system kicked into high gear for once, or something… Though, it was just as well. Someone needed to not be busy or sick.

I will admit, I was begging to feel a little blue in the midst of it all, but good company kept me and everyone else in good spirits. To my surprise, and delight, a trip to the mall for a haircut on Saturday (the day after Black Friday) turned into a really fun unplanned date. My happiness meter for the week was filled to the max.

Not all of us were able to enjoy the weekend as we had originally planned to, but everything turned out to be just fine in the end for all of us. We are all very, very thankful for that!

As the Thanksgiving weekend drew to a close, sickness again struck the family. It hit us hard. Vengeful and wicked it was. We are just (finally) recovering from that nasty attack. Though, with the changing season, I wonder if it won’t linger a bit longer here in the house.

For many college students here in the States, the Thanksgiving holiday marks the start of the final exams and final projects madness. For those of us students who were preoccupied with being gluttonous over pumpkin pie, turkey and stuffing; or going crazy during the unexpressible wild Black Friday: cram days and (sometimes) all-nighters.  Caffeine becomes our new best friends. I myself have several cups of coffee near to keep me company when I pull all-nighters. I have lived through the first two exams on my short string of finals. They were no easy piece of pie, let me tell you! Regardless, I lived. Living is what matters in this last stretch. I have one final left. It is due this coming Monday… After that… I will be a free bird until spring semester, 2010. Almost there to winter break!
